How Our Crash Courses Work

Unlike schools that just give you more hours of the same aimless driving, DriveSQ crash courses follow a structured day-by-day curriculum:

Complete Beginner (30-40 hours over 3-4 weeks)

WeekFocusRoads
Week 1Vehicle control, junctions, traffic lights, basic roundaboutsQuiet residential → local A-roads
Week 2Complex junctions, dual carriageways, multi-lane roundabouts, lane disciplinePrincess Parkway, A56, ring road sections
Week 3All manoeuvres, independent driving, hazard anticipationTest centre routes, residential for parking
Week 4Mock tests, fault correction, show-me-tell-me, test-day strategyFull examiner routes, all conditions

Some Experience (20 hours over 1-2 weeks)

If you have had previous lessons, driven abroad, or done significant private practice, our assessment on day one determines your starting point. Many experienced learners skip straight to week 2 content and reach test standard in 1-2 weeks.

Nearly Test-Ready (10 hours over 1 week)

If you were close to passing before or just need mock tests and route practice, our 10-hour package delivers focused test preparation in 3-5 sessions.

Tell us your deadline — we will build a plan to get you there

Can I really learn to drive in a week?
If you have some previous experience, yes. Complete beginners usually need 2-4 weeks. Your instructor will give an honest assessment on day one — we never push you to test before you are ready.
How many hours per day?
2-3 hours per session. We never do sessions longer than 3 hours because fatigue reduces learning quality. Most crash courses schedule one session per day, 5-6 days per week.
What if I need more hours than my package?
Additional hours are charged at the standard hourly rate. There is no pressure — if you need more time, we add it. If you need fewer hours than expected, we can adjust.

Bury Local Area Guide

Lessons around Bury use real local roads including Bury New Road, Rochdale Road and Manchester Road, so by the time you're ready for your test you've already driven the streets you'll use every day after passing. Bury is the birthplace of Sir Robert Peel, the Prime Minister who founded the Metropolitan Police and helped create the Conservative Party.

We also plan around school-run traffic near Bury College and Bury Grammar School, using quieter spots like East Lancashire Railway for early manoeuvre practice before stepping up to busier sections of Bury New Road.

Test centre: most learners around Bury test at Bury Driving Test Centre, Smith Street, Bury, Greater Manchester, BL9 6HH; mock tests are planned around the routes examiners actually use from there.

“My instructor knew exactly which junctions near Bury College get busy at school-run time and planned around them.” – Aisha, Bury
