Hulme & Whalley Range Local Area Guide
Lessons around Hulme and Whalley Range use real local roads including Moss Lane East, Royce Road and Princess Road (A5103), so by the time you're ready for your test you've already driven the streets you'll use every day after passing. The Hulme Arch Bridge, installed over Princess Road in 1997, has become one of the area's most recognisable landmarks and a handy waypoint when we're giving directions during lessons.
We also plan around school-run traffic near St Bede's College and Whalley Range High School, using quieter spots like Southern Cemetery for early manoeuvre practice before stepping up to busier sections of Moss Lane East.
Test centre: most M15 learners test at West Didsbury Driving Test Centre; mock tests are planned around the routes examiners actually use from there.
“Really patient teaching style, and genuinely useful local knowledge of M15 — not just generic lesson plans.” – Zara, M15
