Lessons around Tameside use real local roads including Manchester Road, Wellington Road (Ashton-under-Lyne) and Stamford Street (Ashton-under-Lyne), so by the time you're ready for your test you've already driven the streets you'll use every day after passing. The Stalybridge Buffet Bar on platform 4 of Stalybridge station has had a licensed bar since at least 1860, with a court record from 1870 of a patron being jailed for drunkenness there — it is one of very few licensed station buffets in England to survive largely intact from before the Second World War.
