Teaching commitments do not have to delay your driving licence. We offer holiday intensive courses, after-school evening slots, and weekend sessions designed around the academic calendar.
We understand the unique scheduling challenges teachers face. Our flexible approach makes learning to drive achievable alongside your teaching career.
During term time, a weekly evening lesson between 5pm and 7pm builds your fundamental skills progressively. You cover vehicle control, junctions, and basic road skills at a pace that does not add stress to your working week. Each lesson ends with a clear summary of what you achieved and what comes next.
School holidays transform your progress. A five-day intensive block during half term covers more ground than two months of weekly lessons. The consecutive daily practice strengthens muscle memory and builds confidence rapidly. Many teacher students reach test standard after combining one term of weekly lessons with two holiday intensive weeks.
A driving licence is increasingly important for teaching careers. School placements in Greater Manchester are often in areas poorly served by public transport. Being able to drive to different schools expands your employment options, reduces commute stress, and gives you the flexibility to take opportunities wherever they arise.
At £35/hr with no booking fees, our lessons are affordable on a teacher’s salary. Block bookings of 10 hours save you £20.
Every DriveSQ student gets free access to our Student Portal with 700+ DVSA theory questions, 14 mock tests, hazard perception training, and progress tracking.
Fit driving lessons around your teaching schedule. Holiday courses and term-time evening slots available.
Lessons around Collyhurst use real local roads including Vauxhall Street, Livesey Street and Collyhurst Road, so by the time you're ready for your test you've already driven the streets you'll use every day after passing. Collyhurst Sandstone — a distinctive pinkish-red stone quarried from the area — was used to build many of Manchester's Victorian churches and civic buildings, and exposed sandstone outcrops can still be seen in cuttings around the district.
We also plan around school-run traffic near St Patrick's RC Primary School (Livesey Street) and Harpurhey Community School, using quieter spots like River Irk valley for early manoeuvre practice before stepping up to busier sections of Vauxhall Street.
Test centre: most learners around Collyhurst test at Cheetham Hill (Manchester) Driving Test Centre, Alderglen Road, Cheetham, Manchester, M8 0AL; mock tests are planned around the routes examiners actually use from there.
“My instructor knew exactly which junctions near St Patrick's RC Primary School (Livesey Street) get busy at school-run time and planned around them.” – Aisha, Collyhurst
