Transparent, competitive pricing with no hidden fees. DriveSQ charges £35 per hour for both manual and automatic driving lessons across Greater Manchester.
All prices include door-to-door collection, a dual-control DVSA-approved vehicle, and access to our free theory app. No booking fees, no fuel surcharges.
The average cost of a driving lesson in Manchester ranges from £30 to £45 per hour depending on the school, the instructor’s experience, and whether you choose manual or automatic. Many schools charge more for automatic lessons, adding £3–5 per hour. DriveSQ charges a flat £35 for both, making automatic lessons particularly good value.
Several factors influence pricing: instructor qualifications (DVSA-approved instructors typically charge more than trainees), vehicle type (automatic cars cost more to maintain), area (inner-city schools face higher overheads), and lesson length (90-minute and 2-hour sessions often offer better value per minute). At DriveSQ, we keep costs low by operating efficiently while maintaining DVSA-approved standards.
Some driving schools advertise low headline rates but add charges for fuel surcharges, test-day car hire, evening or weekend supplements, and cancellation penalties. DriveSQ has none of these. Your £35 covers everything except the DVSA test fee itself (£62 weekdays, £75 evenings and weekends), which you pay directly to the DVSA.
Complete a qualifying intensive course and if you do not pass first time, we provide additional lessons at no extra cost until you do.
Every DriveSQ student gets free access to our Student Portal with 700+ DVSA theory questions, 14 mock tests, hazard perception training, and progress tracking.
